    This Must Be The Place

I know this has been all over the blogs lately, but because I am in the show, I feel it is only proper to beat you over the head with it once more. The opening is this Saturday in LA and yesterday I got a chance to check out some of the artist installs and it looks to be a really great show. If you are in the area you should really swing by.

From the press release: This Must Be The Place, curated by Ohio based Faesthetic Magazine, opens June 20th, 2009 at Scion’s Installation L.A. Gallery Space in Culver City. The exhibition features nine American artists from the Faesthetic family who represent the diverse styles appearing in the magazine. This Must Be The Place is comprised of art centered around a theme of “Home,” and loosely limited to a 2 color palette, just like an issue of Faesthetic. Featuring the work of GluekitMatt CurryMaxwell Loren Holyoke-HirschSkullphoneDamien CorrellDan FunderburghJoel Speasmaker & Jemma HostetlerAll artists will be on hand for the opening.

From May 9-15, Yale University School of Art Graphic Design Department is presenting its 2009 MFA Thesis Show, "Lux et Veritas." When the lights of the school's main gallery are turned off, work from the 16 graduating designers will be shown through video projection throughout the space. When the lights are on, apparently the show disappears. The closing reception will be held on Friday May 15 from 7-10pm.

    Patterns Found In Space

Obviously the logical sequel to authoring a pattern book is to take the patterns to space. BFF & VLU fave, Mike Perry opens his first NY solo show next weekend (Saturday, March 7th) at Giant Robot New York

    Interview: Grass Hut Corp

Grass Hut Corp = awesome. Nothing is easily defined there- it's a hybrid art store/gallery/studio filled with super-nice folks with a weirdly awesome hippy punk vibe that makes me feel all glowy inside.
