P has lupus, an autoimmune illness. Lupus affects over 1.5 million Americans alone and there is no cure. Unfortunately this disease has struck pretty close to home as a former classmate of mine who suffers from the illness is in the hospital right now suffering from lupus-related complications. In order to raise awareness and funds a few of P's friends are accepting donations with the Lupus Foundation of America for continued research.
