Bike Box | Portland City Planning

Portland always has lead this country if not the world (Amsterdam, Copenhagen) in bike friendliness. They have installed special lanes, lights, signage, signals and now boxes to protect peddlers. Be safe & try to wear a helmet. Via Bike Portland on Flickr.

It's wonderful to see how Copenhagen's influence is spreading. I love see our painted bike lanes and boxes sprouting up in other cities. Copenhagenizing the planet!

While Davis, California is the city in the US with the highest rate of bike usage [17%], Portland is, indeed, a role model for other American cities.

A lovely photo.

Great insight! thanks. I would site the constant rain as a reason it doesn't win in the usage category.

Sweded! Again, this is the year of sweden for me. I want to visit so bad.
