NAU Spring 08'

The latest season from the Portland/Boulder company has just been rolled out. They keep things on the up and up by instantly donating %5 of your purchase to a variety earth considerate organizations. With retail locations in Boulder, Chicago, Portland, and Bellevue Washington. They carry very little stock in-store and try to use centralized distribution with free shipping, this way their unsold goods aren't pumping carbon into the atmosphere as they criss-cross the country. Most of the clothing is made of recycled materials and designed to be easily recycled after your done with it. They might not be everyone's taste but I think they have spear-headed the multifunctional shirt for folks who want to bike to work and then bike to a nice restaurant or go hiking. We posted NAU way back when they launched, its good to see them evolve past that first season. If your thinking about getting into any business they have a great model and share a lot of it on their site. The NAU site.

VLU,
We apprecaite the shout out but did want to add one point of clarification. We give away 5% of every sale (not 10%) to support a select group of non profit organizations via our Partners For Change program. Although 5% of sales is not as large as 10% its still larger, by orders of magnitude, then current levels of corporate philanthropy which average less then 2/10 of one % of sales.
