Graphic design against cancer
November 20, 2009
My friend Anandi is currently undergoing chemotherapy for invasive breast cancer. Some of her friends have organized an art auction online to help raise funds for her while she is undergoing treatment to cover some medical bills and living expenses while she is undergoing treatment.
I have donated 12 hours of graphic design work to the auction, should anyone out there need some work done affordably and for the money to go somewhere where it is really needed.

This rendering caught my attention from a new project proposal. I won't get started with the irony of the situation.

Cameron McKean is one of my favorite dudes here in Tokyo- he's a great writer whose work traverses cultural attitudes, aesthetics, and the occasional snarky comment for publications like Art Review, Paper Sky, CNNGo, ArtAsiaPacific, Tokyo Art Beat, and News 3 New Zealand (which incidentally boasts the best mug shot of him looking very smug and self-confident- the consummate professional).
Writing sample:
"This is the cover of an issue of Poetics Today. It is very good. "
The man's writing is classic and on point.
He also creates nuanced photography, which you can catch on his blog, as well.
