Califunya: Episode 1

Califunya is a variety show written and directed by Becky Stark. Conceived as an episodic “peace comedy,” the show is an ensemble production featuring a revolving cast of guest stars, including musicians Ariana Delawari and Mia Doi Todd, filmmaker/artist Miranda July, visual artists Ron Regé, Jr. and Jim Drain, costume designer Miss KK and many more. 

Like any variety show, Califunya features musical performances by artists such as The LA Ladies Choir and Colin Meloy of The Decemberists. The tone of the show has been described as "parodying a high school play that is parodying a kids' show from the '60s as performed by grown-ups—with all the expected exclamation points muted." 

Farm Tactics

My old studio mate the prolific Kyle NG just launched his LA based label Farm Tactics with a collection of apparel and well appointed bags. By sourcing dead stock industrial grade materials and masterfully crafted executions he really is striking on something everyone is looking for these days. Authenticity and a bit of whimsy. Great work Kyle.

Peace Sweater available online

The Peace Sweater project that I worked on with Ryo Chikushi Bordini, Stefan Sagmeister, Oded Ezer, Dainippon Type Organization, and many others is now available online.
